I was given the job of creating this year's Best of the Best Award and wanted to change up the award. This award is given to quality businesses of all kinds. I kept the same red, white, and blue and gold color scheme while updating the style with no gradients and simplified design.
You can see my process here, starting with a design that kept some of the key qualities of the original award. After going back and fourth with the client, my design gradually moved toward the shield shape with the 5 stars and a more contrasting color scheme.
